On September 12 and 13, the Chinese Consulate General in Belfast participated in Belfast Autumn Fair. Consul General Li Nan had cordial exchanges and friendly interactions with people from all sectors of Northern Ireland. He briefed participants on China’s achievements in economic and social development as well as traditional Chinese culture, fostering a warm and vibrant atmosphere.

A dedicated cultural exhibition area was arranged at the venue, where books covering China’s history and culture, politics and economics, and traditional culture were distributed free of charge. Interactive cultural activities including trying on Hanfu, Chinese calligraphy, ink-blowing painting, handkerchief twirling, shuttlecock kicking and folding fan playing were available. Traditional performances such as lion dance, face-changing and water-sleeve dance were staged. Large numbers of visitors stopped to take part, applauding enthusiastically and lingering to enjoy the activities, while expressing admiration for the richness and depth of Chinese culture.

As one of Northern Ireland’s most influential annual public events, the Autumn Fair attracted more than 20,000 people. The event provided a valuable platform for deepening people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Northern Ireland, offering visitors an immersive experience of Chinese culture and fostering greater understanding of and affinity for China.
