On 17 August, Consul General Li Nan met with the New Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Craig Blaney, to exchange views on deepening practical cooperation.

Consul General Li introduced China’s economic development and the achievements of friendly cooperation between China and Northern Ireland. He noted that Ards and North Down is one of the most dynamic cities in NI. The Chinese side looks forward to consolidating the foundation of friendship with Ards and North Down, exploring cooperation in areas such as fintech, green agriculture, and trade and economic relations, achieving complementary advantages and mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, and promoting more practical results in exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.

Mayor Blaney said that Ards and North Down attaches great importance to cooperation with China and stands ready to maintain good relationship with the Chinese Consulate General to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two sides.
