On 16 July, Consul General Li Nan met with Belfast's New Lord Mayor, Councillor Róis-Máire Donnelly, to exchange views on further strengthening cooperation.

Consul General Li congratulated Lord Mayor Donnelly on assuming office and expressed the Consulate General's readiness to maintain close communication with Belfast City Council, deepen exchanges and cooperation in such areas as trade and investment, education, culture and tourism, consolidate the foundation of sister-city relations, and promote the sound and steady development of China-UK relations at the local level.
