On 10 December, the Chinese Consulate General in Belfast hosted “Books into School” event in Grosvenor Grammar School. Consul General Mr. Li Nan attended and gave a lecture on China's national conditions and culture. Principal Dr. Vasey and over 100 students participated.
Consul General Li introduced China in a simple and understandable way from multiple dimensions, including geography and population, history and culture, people's beliefs, governance concepts, and achievements of Chinese modernization, helping the students gain a deeper understanding of the profound spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, through vivid cases and detailed data. He encouraged the students to learn more about China, visit China, and actively become envoys of cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and the UK/Northern Ireland.
Dr. Vasey appreciated the Consul General for the long-term support for the school, and noted that this event will help teachers and students better understand China and would like to contribute to the continuous deepening of educational cooperation between China and Northern Ireland. A knowledge quiz on Chinese culture was also held, and the atmosphere was lively and engaging.
