The 139th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) successfully concluded on 5 May 2026 in Guangzhou. Guided by the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s congratulatory letter and held at the launch of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, the Fair set new records across multiple key indicators, demonstrating the resilience and vitality of China’s foreign trade and its firm commitment to high-level opening-up.

Record Buyer Participation

A total of 314,000 overseas buyers from 220 countries and regions attended the Fair, up 1.1% year-on-year. Markets including the United States, Australia and Canada saw marked growth, while participation from Belt and Road partner countries remained stable. 407 leading global purchasing enterprises and 154 overseas business organisations took part. On-site intended export deals reached USD 25.7 billion.

Innovation Takes Centre Stage

Of the 4.65 million exhibits, new, green and intelligent products each accounted for over 20%. The Fair hosted 665 new product launches, with more than 60% of products applying innovative technologies. Drones, smart wearables, exoskeleton robots and bionic hands drew widespread acclaim, with buyers calling the Fair “a glimpse of the future”.
