On 17 February, Consul General Li Nan visited South Eastern Regional College (SERC) in Northern Ireland . He met with Deputy Principal Heather McKee, toured the school’s teaching laboratories, and engaged in friendly exchanges with the faculty and students.
Heather McKee provided an overview of the college’s history and its collaborations with institutions such as Zhongyuan University of Technology in areas including faculty training, student exchanges, and joint teaching and research projects. She emphasized the college’s commitment to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with China and expressed a desire for more collaborative initiatives in the future.
Consul General Li commended SERC for its active engagement with China, highlighting that educational exchanges and cooperation are an important component of China-UK/NI relations. He reaffirmed China’s support for vocational education institutions in both regions to establish sustainable partnerships, jointly develop curricula, and collaborate on vocational education and skills training. He also encouraged more students to participate in the Youth Envoy Scheme (YES) to foster greater exchanges and friendship.
