New Year Greetings from Mme. Zhang Meifang, Consul General of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Belfast
2021/12/30

Hello everyone,

The New Year’s bell is set to ring in yet another new year, with 2022 nearly upon us. On behalf of the Chinese Consulate General in Belfast, I would like to extend the warmest of holiday greetings to all our friends who share our desire for building upon the friendly relations between China and Northern Ireland!

Over the past year, in the face of great difficulties, the people of China and Northern Ireland remain unwavering in our solidarity, continuing to expand relations and meaningful cooperation in various fields.

So what does that say as we look ahead? What awaits us all going forward?

Hope and possibility! Better days ahead for us all!

2022 represents a year of great significance in China's national development and national rejuvenation. It represents as well the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ambassadorial diplomatic relations between China and the UK. China attaches great importance to the development of China-UK relations, as well the friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Northern Ireland. We will always be good friends and good partners, of this I am certain.

As the Chinese Consul General in Belfast, it is my sincere intent to continue building upon friendly relations with friends from all walks of life in Northern Ireland, strengthening dialogue and exchange, expanding meaningful cooperation. Thus, continuing our joint contribution to the health, growth and sustainability of China-UK relations at the regional level.

So, my dear friends…

From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all a most joyful and memorable holiday! And may the coveted friendship between China and Northern Ireland remain ever so… for as long as time is.

This, for the greater good of all!

Happy New Year!
