Question: On 7 March, the UK and Japan held the Economic 2+2 Ministers’ Meeting, claiming that “China is increasing support to Russia’s defense industrial base”. What is your comment?

Embassy Spokesperson: We are strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposed to the UK and Japan’s groundless accusations against China.

China has always taken an objective and just stance on the Ukraine issue, believes that dialogue and negotiation is the only viable way out of the crisis and is committed to promoting talks for peace.

We exercise export control over dual-use articles in accordance with laws and regulations, never fan the flames or seek selfish gains.

We firmly oppose relevant countries spreading disinformation about so-called China’s support for Russia’s defense industry, and urge the UK and Japan to stop shifting the blame onto others.
