Consul General Wang Shuying Attended Chinese New Year Gala Dinner By Chinese Chamber of Commerce NI

On 19th February, Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Welfare Association Northern Ireland held the Chinese New Year Gala Dinner in Belfast. Chair Huang Weicheng made welcome remarks, Consul General Wang Shuying, Lord Mayor of Belfast Nuala McAllister respectively delivered remarks for a Happy New Year. Lord Lieutenant Fionnuala Jay-O'Boyle and over 400 guests representing local Chinese and friends were present to celebrate the Chinese New Year of Dog.

In her speech, Wang Shuying extended best wishes to overseas Chinese in NI and spoke highly of their positive contributions to the prosperity and harmony of NI and to the promotion of China-NI friendship and cooperation.

Wang Shuying briefed on huge achievements of China's development in 2017 and remarkable progress of China-UK and China-NI friendly cooperation. She shared her prospect for the new year, highlighting the upcoming New Era of China's development and the China-UK "Golden Era" 2.0, emphasizing that China-UK and China-NI comprehensive collaborations will usher in new historic opportunities.

Wang Shuying also briefed the latest progress of consular services in Belfast and promised the Chinese Consulate General would as always spare no efforts to perform its duties and responsibilities, regarding caring for and protecting the well-being of overseas Chinese in NI.
