On July 27, 2017, Consul General Wang Shuying attended the 11th Belfast Mela.

As an annual multi-cultural festival, Belfast Mela is orginized by ArtsEkta , and sponsored by Northern Ireland Executive Office, Belfast City Council，NI Arts Council and Tourism NI, attracting about 30,000 attendees each year. The festival aims to enhance the understanding of the local minority culture and to promote the social harmony and stability.

This year, 13 local minorities with different cultural background participated the event, Chinese culture show was an important part of it, which represented by Chinese dragon dance, lion dance, martial arts, fan dance and Chinese painting, etc.

Wang Shuying had extensive exchanges with the host and guests and discussed how to further support active participation of the local Chinese community and better display Chinese culture to enrich the Festival.
