On 1 November 2016, Consul General WANG Shuying met with Minister for Education Peter Weir. WANG Shuying congratulated Peter Weir on his assumption of the important duty, and made positive remarks on recent development of China-NI relationship, in particular the fruitful results of bilateral education collaboration. She was confident that with the joint efforts of both sides, the friendly and co-operative relations between China and Northern Ireland would definitely be promoted to a higher level. Peter Weir agreed with WANG Shuying about the above comment and indicated that, the Northern Ireland Executive attaches importance to developing relations with China, and looks forward to enlarging China-NI education collaboration and achieving more pragmatic results in the bilateral friendly ties.
